Justin Jacobs directs and manages the Financial Advisory division at Avondale, as well as creates and implements complex financial planning strategies for high net worth clients. Before founding Avondale, Justin was Senior Vice President and Senior Investment Strategist at BBVA Compass, annually earning Club Adelante status as one of the company’s top national performers. Before that, he worked as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch, where he was the junior partner on the top producing team in Central Texas. Justin has a BA degree in Economics from Yale University, where he played football and twice earned ‘Most Athletic’ honors from the athletic department. He serves on the Boards of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (chairman), Boy Scouts of America, and CK Youth Foundation, and is a member at the Austin Stone church.
Tanner Price
Sr. Financial Advisor

Tanner Price focuses on customized financial planning for business owners and highly compensated executives, specifically in the technology sector. Prior to becoming a financial advisor at Avondale, Tanner played professional football in Paris, France where he captained his team to an undefeated season and French national championship in 2015. Before playing professionally, Tanner was the four-year starting quarterback at Wake Forest University where he was named to the ‘Academic All ACC’ team three years in a row and graduated with a BA degree in Economics. He is currently active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and attends Austin Ridge Bible Church. During his leisure time, Tanner is actively involved with local youth football organizations, sharing his passion, knowledge and skills while coaching kids of all ages.
Joanne Burks, CPA
CFO and COO

Joanne Burks, CPA serves as Director of Client Service for Avondale. Her responsibilities include the administrative and operational aspects of the firm. She joined Avondale after a career in accounting and finance in industries including commercial real estate, restaurant management, and the non-profit sector where she has served as Controller, Financial Analyst, Accounting Manager, and CFO. She obtained her BBA degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin, is a licensed certified public accountant, and holds a CGMA designation from the AICPA. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Austin Chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Joanne is a sustaining member of National Charity League – Capital of Texas Chapter, serves on the board of CYT Austin, and volunteers for several other non-profit organizations in the Austin area.
Julia Gregory
Operations Manager

Julia Gregory serves as the Operations Assistant in the Avondale Wealth Management Austin office. Before joining the team, she worked in insurance and earned her General Lines Agent and Life & Health Insurance Counselor licenses. She also worked as an IT recruitment consultant with Frank Recruitment Group in Dallas. Julia attended Baylor University as the 64th member of her family to do so. While attending Baylor she studied abroad in London and was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Julia earned her undergraduate degree in Marketing from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. Through Kappa Julia volunteered with Reading is Fundamental at Parkdale Elementary and served as a Float Chairman for the Baylor Homecoming parade—one of the largest and oldest collegiate homecoming parades in the nation. As a native Houstonian who recently moved to Austin, she enjoys exploring her new city, listening to music, and creating custom watercolor paintings in her spare time.
